Telegraph: Islamist preacher warns France against banning the burka

I think this is some sort of blackmailing! Burka is not an Islamic thing like the headscarf, it's rather a cultural thing, an obvious evidence that it's not Islamic is that women pilgrims have to take it off in the Holiest place for Muslims during the pilgrimage in Mecca. However, I'm personally against Burka but I'm also against restricting freedom of choice, I don't think the legal ban is a wise solution for the Burka but education is, by educating Muslim women that it's truly not an Islamic thing ...

""Look what happened in Belgium and in France," Omar Bakri said, referring to Belgium's ban on the burka, or full Islamic veil, and the start of debates by the French parliament on a similar law that is all but certain to be adopted.

"They believe that prohibiting Muslim women to use the burka is going to make them safer. But they are wrong. This is going to make Muslims living in France give more support to al-Qaeda", Bakri told Spain's Cadena Ser radio."
